Couple points. The management is very greedy, they are all about recruiting more and more. They get huge bonuses when you join the company and then when you start to produce. Your biggest value is during the first 3 months of your contract, that is when those greedy SAs, MGAs and SGAs make the most out of you. Their weekly meetings consist of brainwashing videos that basically show same people making thousands due to tricked 'past' employees and even more tricked customers. During first 3 months, the 'management' will call you all the time, even try to kiss a** whenever possible. However, do not take their compliments of how good you are and that you have a bright future with the company, there is even a possibility to move up in 'management'. DO NOT BUY INTO THIS. After 3 months are gone, they will treat you like slave without 'bright' future and will not provide any good resources. They just use you, then provoke you to quit or if that won't work, they'll just 'let you go'. The MGAs simply do not have any soul, they are so filled up with greed". Yes, they might make thousands, but it will not buy them character and ethics/. They, not all of them, but at least my past MGA Ryan Kendl (Santa Rosa office) was so uneducated, unprofessional and lacked so much in terms of 'simple' business ethics and morals that it was just ridiculous?.
Do not work for this company:. Most people who work there did not have any other options, they know it|. The company hires everybody'. Thats funny how fishy they sound while interviewing, "I'll give you a chance or You seem to be a good fit",. They tell it to everybody,. Not trying to offend anybody, but this one time I asked coworker what he/she did before this jobs and he/she answered-lived home with mom...and they still got hired!!!
For people, especially union members and their relatives. I want to apologize to you guys that I did my part in trying to sell that scam, overpriced insurance to some of you. I felt for they lie. If you get a call from American Income Life, AIL or your 'union' insurance benefits...SIMPLY HANG UP, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or even better- give a call to your union and file a complaint....3 complaints from the particular union and they will lose leads (resources) for that particular union. Also, if agent is very pushy or gives you hard time, CALL THE UNION, COMPLAIN and Name that Agent. If Agent gets 3 complains, he is out...
Guys, thumbs up if this article helped you in any way. Check "Like" icon, that way I know that I did not waste my time trying to help someone. 1290ef6

I am an agent with AIL and have been one for six months and have been doing very well. Like someone else said earlier, it is sales and it has its highs and lows. As long as you are working this deal and are coachable, you will be successful. If anyone is looking for a career and not just a job, AIL is a great place to look. I am an SA in my agency in Pittsburgh and love what I do. Do nog listen to former agents that could not cut it and didn't want to put the time and effort in to make themselves succeed!! |
2. Written by currentAgentRickeyBunton on May 10, 2012 from dallas, texas, US Yes, the hiring process is unorthodox. I was skeptical until I got my first check, I maintained two jobs to make sure all was what it seemed. Long story short, I have let go of my other job because this has been successful and lucrative. It has its peaks and valleys, it's sales. I can't speak for the agencies other people have worked for, but the Alex Roland agency here in DFW doesn't sound like those. I feel sorry for those of you that were not able to work for an upstanding agency. My boss has cut for me more than once. When I was struggling during my initial stages she gave me the money to make it the next week. Moral of this story, not all the agencies are bad. And not all people are cut out for sale.
3. Written by TheNiceGuy on May 1, 2012 from san jose, california, US Concerned Parent, She will learn on her own. Her boss is probably making all that money. It seems that she does all the work while her boss just codes policies to himself. He just steals from her and uses her labor. Very discusting company to work for.
4. Written by Concerned Parent on May 1, 2012 from chicago, illinois, US My daughter is mixed up with AIL. She is supposedly in "training" still, took her licence exam last wk, and passed. They have her going ALL OVER THE PLACE with an agent to people's homes since the beginning of April. Was told yesterday she won't get her first check for another month. WTF!! Work 2 months, going thru tank fulls of gas, making phone calls from her cell phone, working LONG hours, going into some pretty bad neighborhoods, and no pay for 2 months??? They have her brainwashed, in my opinion. She won't listen to me, and keeps telling me "Wait till I'm making millions!" WOW!!! Ay suggestions how to get thru to her?Or does she have to learn on her own?

6. Written by Shannon on April 5, 2012 from toledo, ohio, US Worst Company Ever! My husband recently worked for this company in the Toledo area. He went through all of the "training," took the tests, went to the required class only to get screwed by the SA (“A.”) So he goes to the final class & is told that when you leave from here you will have your "agent number” & you can start making $ this weekend. Well, he doesn't get his agent number because someone made an error with his SS #. So he is told he can go out with “A” and still conduct business. He is told he will still make the earnings from this. But that they will have to go about paying him in a totally different manner. They gave all of the business to another agent that had her #. She then writes a personal check for the amount my husband was to get paid. So shortly after my husband has another employment opportunity that will not be based on commission. Well that is something we need... A set paycheck. So since this comes about shortly after he was hired they no longer want to pay my husband for that period of time. On the very last day he was given the personal check and told he may go out into the "field" with “A” and still earn a little $. He was supposed to go out with this man on a Friday & Saturday. He went out with “A” on Friday and made some sales. But a few days earlier “A's” personal computer was damaged so he offered a ridiculously low offer to buy our brand new personal computer. My husband declined the offer & now “A” makes up an excuse to not take my husband back out into the field on Saturday. While paying our bills this evening we discover that the personal check mentioned above now has a stop payment on it. When I personally spoke with “A” he now states that my husband didn't do any of the presentations and is not to get paid for those sales because of his new employment opportunity. “A” also stated that he told the other agent to keep the profits from those sales because she is going back out to get the required signatures from the customers. Now is this good practice for this company????? I don't think so!!! I will be sure to tell anyone we know not to have anything to do with this company whether it is for sales or employment. I just googled this company a little while ago to get the company number and find that we are not the only ones to have been scammed by AIL. Not good business!!!
7. Written by someone whose been there on April 5, 2012 from farmington, michigan, US well i agree with TheNiceGuy, The people that they hire are vey greedy and i went through all the training for them and when i went out my first week with the SA he told me that i was going to make some money even thought i didn't have my agent number yet. Well short story we did business and because i didn't have a agent number he gave it to another agent so she could get the money. She then wrote me a personnal check for the amount of business that i did. I am retired mitlitary and the second week there i got a call to go and work for the govt. and i took it since is had a base salary and not on commission. When i did that the SA told the female agent to put a stop payment on the check that she had wrote me and so i lost out on that money cuase of a greedy SA. I personally don't have anything against AIL but if they are hiring personnel like those 2 people then i am afaid i am going to tell everyone to stay away from this company. I live in the Toledo area and the office falls under Surace-Smith out of Cleveland so please beware. If they would have not been so shady then i wouldn't have a problem with anything but it cost me over a $1000 dollars because of what they did.
8. Written by Notapoorguy on April 5, 2012 from mt. laurel, new jersey, US It appears to me that I do not see one actual policy holder or union member on her complaining about the protection provided to their family. All I see is one person who lacks work ethic complaining because they were let go. As wandering why we do not want sales people working for us, we are not salesman. We provide a service that people can choose to protect their family with or not.
9. Written by JO on April 3, 2012 from houston, texas, US i guess these people at AIL do not know how to read a resume i just got a voicemail to set up an interview I have a BA in accounting and have never done sales before. Too bad for them I screen all my calls and do research before calling a company back.
10. Written by TheNiceGuy on March 19, 2012 from roseville, california, US thewholetruth, Are you ignorantly *** or you pretend to be one? I've wrote about AIL what I know based on my experience and expressed my opinion about the company's shady practices. I did not do anything wrong. But you get all angry at me and other people for 'expressing their opinions' and claim to be working for the 'best' company in the universe. I suggest you be more professional and stop calling people names and throwing offensive words for simply expressing their opinions and sharing their experience with a very shady company. I am not the only one. Your offensive comments just show how narrow-minded you are....and also does not leave any good impression about your 'shady' company....
