If you get a call from American Income Life, in my case the fisher agencies of MA, do not go in for your interview. It is nothing more than a pyramid scheme. They lie to you during the interview process. They bring you in literally for a 20 second "interview," then send you off to a "business meeting," which was really a 2 hour long power point presentation of how amazing the company is. During this presentation I felt like I was a part of a cult the way the regional manager had to sell his company to people who really wanted jobs. If we were there and interested, why do you need to go to such lengths to make potential employees think this is a great place to work? During this presentation you also see ads for AIL in which hundreds (maybe thousands) of people are at a convention chanting and raising their arms in the air in unison, like it is a cult:.

Anyways, afterwards they tell you they are only going to call back a select few of you, when in reality they call back everyone for the final "interview.." In the final interview it is not really an interview;. I got asked two questions about myself,. I was not able to get one word in.. Everything I tried to say about myself was ignored and the regional manager just continued to talk about the company:. During this interview they try again to keep selling you the company and telling you why it is a great place to work,. Every time I had a question the manager would answer by talking really fast, not answering my question, and finishing by saying something else really great about the company.. He then told me he would be in touch with me about whether or not I got the job.

So he told me he would call me by 5:00 that day to let me know either way. He did not call me until 4 the next day. During that time I did my research on Fisher Agencies and found out it is just like every other agency in the company: it is a pyramid scheme and they hire as many people as possible to make as much money off of them as possible. They do not give you gas money and they will make you travel all over the state chasing false leads, make you pay for training (and do not pay you for the hours you put in during the 4 weeks of training), make you buy a laptop, pay for your licensing, etc. So I did not answer my phone when he called because I realized I had just dodged a huge bullet.

They continued to email me and call me, however. I called back after the first call I received a few days later, and left a nasty voicemail saying they should be ashamed of themselves for wasting my time and money that I don't have getting to those interviews and taking time off work, and told me I know it is nothing more than a pyramid scheme. They keep calling me, however, and they are not leaving voicemails. Very sketchy if you ask me. I am afraid of what will happen if I answer the phone based on the rudeness of their employees!

Thanks for the heads up and saving my time and money(of which I don't have). I hate being suckered!

I had also attended an interview just recently and was extremely skeptical of the process and the company especially since I had never heard of them. After going through with the interview although it was lengthy I did like getting more backround and info on the company.

My aunt has a policy with them which was the only reason I interviewed to begin with.

They helped me get licensed and just started and everything has been positive and productive so far. The atmosphere is very family and team oriented so I can see why you got a "cult" feeling but it is one of the best work environments I have ever been in.

While it is not for everyone, it feels like a great fit for me.

Now it is Fisher & Associates. There is another call Lafond Agency. You should call the AG office.
